Introduction
March 28, 2008:
In the last issue of TEN [TEN#39]
I announced that I will no longer present public
courses on EA and SOA from Oct 2008 as I plan to retire in
October. I will however continue to present inhouse courses
and also provide consulting services to Information
Engineering Services Pty Ltd (IES) clients.
Because of
my planned retirement, we also announce in this issue that
we will
offer the copyrights in our Education Courses for sale by
Tender to companies that provide Education and/or Consulting
services in the fields of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and
Technology. This copyright is
currently held by Information Engineering Services Pty Ltd (IES). These courses will also be of
interest to Software companies that want to offer Education
and/or Consulting services in these fields. This issue of
TEN provides further details of each of the courses whose
copyright are offered for sale.

you do not want to receive future TEN mailings, please email

With this issue, we celebrate
the 10th year of publication of "The Enterprise Newsletter"
(TEN). From the first issue in March 1998, we have published
TEN world-wide on a quarterly basis.

Thank you
for your enthusiastic response when I asked in the last
issue whether I
should continue to write quarterly issues of The Enterprise
newsletter (TEN). Overwhelmingly you asked me to continue
with TEN, so I will keep publishing it – even when I am
retired – while I feel that I can continue to make a
contribution.

Because of
my planned retirement in Oct 2008, we also announce in this issue that
we will
offer the copyrights in our Education Courses for sale by
Tender to companies that provide Education and/or Consulting
services in the fields of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and
Technology. This copyright is
currently held by Information Engineering Services Pty Ltd (IES). These courses will also be of
interest to Software companies that want to offer Education
and/or Consulting services in these fields. This issue of
TEN provides further details of each of the courses whose
copyright are offered for sale.
The courses
are fully documented with PowerPoint Instructor Notes based
on extracts from my 2006 book: “Enterprise
Architecture for Integration: Rapid Delivery Methods and
Technologies”, by Clive Finkelstein, Artech House,
Norwood MA (March 2006), so they can be easily presented by
experienced instructors or consultants. The Reference text
for the courses is this 2006 book. The copyright also covers
the courses described on the IES web site at
http://www.ies.aust.com/. Click on the Courses
link from any page. These courses also support
Enterprise Architecture
consulting projects; click on the Projects
link from any page.
I have provided links below to download course descriptions
in PDF for the following courses whose copyrights are
offered for sale:

These
courses will enable Education and Consulting Services
companies (and also Software companies) to offer public and
inhouse education courses and consulting services based on
these course materials to their relevant markets.
For
companies that have ready availability of instructor and/or
consulting resources to teach these courses, revenue
opportunities of several million dollars are easily
achievable. Some companies have already expressed interest
in the purchase of the copyright to these courses.
If required by the successful purchaser, for a monthly
retainer I could maintain these courses up to date as I
write later editions of my book in retirement. I am also
prepared to present Teach the Teachers courses for
Consultants and Instructors, if required. I will ask the
successful purchaser for permission to continue to use these
same course materials, so I can continue to present inhouse
courses to IES clients on a “non-compete” basis.
Further
details will be provided in the
next issue
of TEN of the Return on Investment (ROI) of these
courses. Read this
next issue
and request the Course ROI document, with its included
financial details from:
clive.finkelstein@ies.aust.com.
Please
complete by June 30, 2008 the
Tender Offer Form for Purchase of Course Copyrights -
available with the Course ROI document - to
register your interest. All tenders will be held in the
strictest confidence.
